We're finally down to our last few weeks of waiting before the premiere of Ridley Scott's sort-of Alien prequel Prometheus, and the first full clip from the flick has finally hit the 'net to make the wait a little easier. Watch as Idris Elba guides the titular ship in for a landing on a harsh alien world.

Seeing Brent Spiner, aka Star Trek: The Next Generation's Data, play a deadpan smart-aleck version of Spock is just awesome. And really, really surreal.

When a movie makes a billion dollars, it's clear that it's worked itself into a society's culture. And, sometimes, what gets spit out—as with these perfectly wonderful cartoons that poke both love and fun at Earth's Mightiest Heroes—is equally awesome.

Fox announced its fall schedule this morning, and not one new sci-fi or fantasy show made the cut. In returning show news, both Touch and Fringe will be back, as previously announced, and both have been scheduled for Fridays, with Touch airing at 8 p.m. and Fringe's final season keeping its timeslot at 9 p.m.

With the news that Robert Rodriguez would be hopping back into the Sin City saddle for a sequel to the 2005 hit came a bit of speculation: Which of the original's cast will be returning, and who'll be calling the shots?

Finally! We've been waiting to see some footage from Roar Uthaug's new apocalyptic thriller Escape ("Flukt") since we premiered those stills about a year ago and this first trailer is looking mighty fine.

It looks sappy but what the hell, it's post apocalyptic. There is one shot of body looting and really, I'm hoping there's more. It's scheduled for an upcoming release in Korea. What do you think? Would you watch it?

Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof have somehow managed to be both coy about Prometheus' Alien connections and incredibly revealing. And this latest bit of "casting news" further cements that Prometheus very much takes place in the Alien universe ... otherwise, why feature a guy who's been in three other Alien movies?

With a title like that, I'm sure to get a lot of hate for even suggesting such a notion.

But here's the thing: I loved Tim Burton. He was my absolute favorite director until around 2001. The worlds he created held my attention in a deeper way than other filmmaker's. The oddball and macabre design, along with the melancholy atmosphere, were unlike anything I had seen in movies.

LOS ANGELES — "The Avengers" is taking a page out of Superman's comic book – flying faster than a speeding bullet to the billion-dollar mark at the box office.

The superhero blockbuster took in $103.2 million to lead for a second-straight weekend, raising its domestic total to $373.2 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.
